  • Lastly, our product is 100% properly KILN dried providing our customers with a near “perfect log” for building upon.  The KILN drying process is where we place your logs/cants into an oven (KILN) and slow dry the logs between 28-34 days with a temperature max of 180 degrees to reach a moisture content of <19%.  This desired process from customers is the best value added service in the log home industry.  It allows the following benefits to our customers.  It sanitizes the logs completely, it removes on average of 10,000 lbs of water from a log package, it crystallizes the sap, it eliminates shrinking, twisting, or warping.  It also allows your home to be constructed correctly without any future use of hand cranks, thru-bolts, springs, jack systems, chinking or any other building issues.
  • Overall, these differences are our strengths, whereas others might eliminate we are providing key value added services for you to have confidence in us and our product.

Log Assembly System:

  • We secure all logs with a 4 way air tight sealing system.  It consists of the below steps to assure you of great efficiency from your log walls and not through them.
  • First of all, our logs are all provided to you with tongue and grove joint construction.  This runs the length of the log from end to end.
  • Secondly, the meeting point of the tongue and groove is reinforced with a construction grade foam gasket, which swells after time solidifying the seal.
  • Thirdly, we then place a bead of energy seal caulking along the length of both sides of the tongue.  These two beads act as double vapor barriers along all seams.
  • Finally, we then secure all logs with 10, 12, or 14” construction grade metal HOG/OLY wood screws every 2’.  This is possible because we have properly KILN dried our logs allowing us to stack them as you should and then secure with builder friendly construction methods.  If we didn’t have such a customer desired process of KILN drying the construction would be troublesome and there would have to be compensation for settling, shrinking, or warping around windows and doors.  Thus the reason others use unconventional systems (cranks, thru-bolts, jacks, chinking) to adjoin the logs.
